Many thanks to everyone who came to the 25th Annual Lowland Games!

Where everyone enjoyed “a bit of country fun and a LOT of mud” and had a brilliant family day out.

There was giggletastic fun – if you got involved in the mud encrusted games or just watched the fun from the river bank whilst enjoying a slice of homemade cake and a cuppa.

People flocked from miles around to the Lowland Games for all the fun and frolics to be had in one fabulous day.

The highlight of the day was the raft river race with competitors in the most hilarious fancy dress. The dream team being the Hairy Fairies that caused laughs all round when they nosed dived their way into the river! But they were such good sports and deserved a first place!

We also have the infamous mud wrestling arena, the funniest for years!! A big thank you to the guys for Wales, we look forward to you coming again next year!!

The river it’s a knock out, children’s games, family dog shows, put the tug of war, unfortunately did not make it through the rain, but watch this space for next years.

There was entertainment with the fabulous ferret racing, teas and homemade refreshment and the best beer tent in the area, serving local ales and Somerset brewed cider from locally grown apples.

St Margret's Hospice had a wonderful evening with live music, cheese and pickles and lots of fun plus raised a huge sum of money.

“Storm” were superb, headlining the evenings frivolities. It was be an excellent night and we hope to have them again next year!

The Lowland Games is supported by local residents and businesses and raises money for charities and many local good causes. It’s a laugh from beginning to end and everyone who organises the event thanks you so much for coming and enjoying a little bit of country fun!
